The Challenge
- Implement an end-to-end Internal Audit tool to support Health & Safety Internal Audits across all of their global assets.
- Implement a tool that could support the audit planning process, store multiple work programme types based on the asset and location, record all work performed in a single location, and automatically generate reports in a suitable format for delivery to the board.
- Implement a tool that would need to accommodate both client staff and guest auditors.
The Solution
- A tailored solution was configured by combining multiple elements on the Deloitte – CoreStream platform, including a Controls Manager, Action Follow-Up tool, Risk Manager and Task Manager.
- The solution allowed for key control objectives and detailed descriptions to be stored in an online repository, with work programmes sent to appropriate users.
- All actions from the noted processes were assigned owners, due dates and status updates with regular automated reminders.
The Outcome
- Support the end-to-end audit process
- Provide a consistent approach for planning audits, pushing work programmes to auditors and receiving and reporting on results.
As a result of the success from this project, the client requested additional features to be added to the implemented solution to:
- further enhance the available functionality supporting audit planning; and
- expand the scope to other internal audits.
